With warmer than normal temperatures compared with the rest of the US, Arizona is a popular destination in the winter months. From the Phoenix area south, you’ll find great temperatures. However, in the areas of higher elevation, like the Grand Canyon, you’ll find colder temperatures and even snow during the winter months.
In general, spring and fall are considered the best times to visit Arizona. During spring and fall, you’ll find comfortable temperatures throughout the state. You’ll also find smaller crowds at top tourist destinations such as the Grand Canyon.
Summer in the northern portion of the state can be delightful. The warm temperatures and high elevation combine to make some great weather to explore the outdoors. While summer in the south can be incredibly hot, you’ll still find lot of people exploring Arizona during this season.
