Why Visit Florida?

We think Florida is a great place for a family vacation! There are plenty of low and no cost things to do that are family friendly, like exploring amusement parks, everglades and the beaches. There also are plenty of adult activities which make it a great place for a family vacation. Florida can also be a very cost effective vacation due to the large Florida travel industry and a wide variety of options for tourists. And don’t miss the most important reason to visit Florida, the beaches. Almost every Florida vacation includes a visit to one of the many pristine beaches dotting the over 1,300 miles of coastline!

Our Top 5 Things to do in Florida

Spending Time at the Beach: In the Peninsula State, you won’t have to go far to find beach. However, if you want to try out a variety of beaches, consider a Florida road trip to visit a few.

Orlando Amusement Parks: Orlando really knows how to do amusement parks. Disney World is possibly the most well known, but for adults, we love Universal Studios, including Harry Potter World.

Kayaking with Manatees: Manatees are common sights in some of the rivers in Florida and a calm kayak ride is a great way to get close to these gentle giants.

Eating In Miami: The international food makes Miami a great place for a food tour!

Sailing in the Florida Keys: With island after island in sight, exploring the Florida Keys by boat is one of the best experiences out there!

Florida Travel Guide

The best time to visit Florida is in the late Spring or early Fall. This is when temperatures are warm without being overly hot.

However, Florida also experiences large crowds in the Spring and Summer, due to school holidays. So we think the best time to visit Florida is in the early fall, when school is back in session but the Florida weather is still nice.

Getting Around:

Florida has several larger airports. Florida plane tickets often are discounted and this can make traveling to Florida very appealing and inexpensive.

Most Florida travelers will choose a base of operations for their travel plans. Popular destinations include Orlando, Miami, Tampa and The Florida Keys.

While you can get around pretty well with tour companies, having a car in Florida is a definite advantage. There are few walkable towns in Florida. However, if you’d prefer to use  taxis or ride shares, they are common in larger cities and provide an economical way to get around.

Know Before You Go
